Description : Nomus Comm-Systems is a partnership firm founded in May 1988 by 2 NRI
technocrats from USA to provide Data Communication products using
state-of-the-art technology and innovative design solutions to meet the varied
needs of the Indian market.
Nomus products include the entire range of modems including 56K and
33.6 Kbps for Synchronous and Asynchronous operation on Dial-up as well as
Leased (2 & 4-wire) telephone lines with Fax and Voice operation. The modems
are available as Stand-alone units, Rack Mount or PC cards. Besides modems,
other products are Base Band Modems (64/128 Kbps), Voice/Data
Multiplexers, ISDN Cards, X.25 PADs, Communication Software, etc.
Nomus has a full-fledged in-house R&D facility. As a result, Nomus has been
able to develop modems with features and performance well suited to the Indian
requirements and environment. Nomus modems are today recognized as
the best engineered modems in India. The hallmark of Nomus R&D has
been its ability to provide upgrade path on all its products for future
technology enhancements. Besides standard products, Nomus has developed
various custom and semi-custom modems with special line and serial interfaces,
protocols, etc. for specialized applications.
Nomus has its own well-equipped assembly and testing facilities.
International standard telephone line and exchange simulators and various other
sophisticated instruments are employed in testing the functionality and performance
of the modems. Each & every modem undergoes 100% testing. Thereafter, they
are put into 48-hour burn-in to remove any unreliable modems. And, only after final
Quality test, does a modem leave the factory.
Nomus started production in June 1989 and in 10 years installed over 35, 000
modems. The customer list includes all the top Government and Defense
departments, various Public Sector companies, Multi-nationals, etc. A detailed

Nomus has about 40 employees including 15 engineers and other technical
staff in its 2 offices at Baroda and Hyderabad.
Nomus has a wide Sales & Service Network covering all major cities. The
network is still expanding to include other cities. Every service center has
engineers trained at Nomus to carry out installations and provide the best
