Mr. V.S. Rao promoted Shyamal Handlooms in the year 1987, at Chirala. Chirala is located 350 kms. from Hyderabad and 90 kms. from Vijaywada. From a humble beginning in 1987, Shyamal Handlooms has developed into an Integrated Handloom Fabric Manufacturing and Marketing Organisation with a professional approach. Today Shyamal Handloom is run under the supervision of Mr. V.S. Rao, assisted by his three sons. His sons bring varied Business experience, having worked in major Companies which has added to make Shyamal group into a Major Player in the handloom business in Chirala. Shyamal handloom has 400 dedicated looms in Chirala and Mangalagiri. The organisation today has nearly 80 main lines/varieties of products in the area of Sarees and Dress materials. To meet the ever-increasing need for dyed yarn, the organisation adopted a policy of direct procurement of Grey yarn from the spinning mills and getting it dyed in-house. This has fetched good dividends, today the dying unit is being expanded and modernised with further investments. The organisation had been successful in setting up and running its Kalamkari Printing Division and recently it received an award from Crafts Council of A.P. for its Kalamkari double bed spread. The organisation is fully focused on the markets and has established a branch office in Hyderabad to cater the ever-increasing demand for their products. The procurement practice of Sourcing Yarn directly from Spinning Mills, a well planned in-house: Dying unit, Printing Unit and Direct Marketing, have made Shyamal handlooms the most Integrated Handloom Organisation in Chirala - "A Handloom Town". Our range of Sarees is considered exclusive and we have managed to build relations with some of the biggest names in the Handloom Saree business on the strength of our product. The Dress Materials are a unique collection of ethnic women's wear with a touch of latest fabric designs and a blend of contemporary trends.
