Technical data
Density is an important parameter for wood when measuring its physical character and mechanical character. As we know, Wood is a biological tissue made of cells, tracheides, and of walls composed of lignin. The tracheides are like pipes, transporting the sap along the stem till they are filled with water.
Wood density varies within the plant, during the life of the plant, and between individuals of the same species. Also the branches and the outer part of the trunk tend to have a lighter wood than that of the pith.
