Vijay Nicole Imprints
Description : Vijay Nicole started unofficially in 1994 – a few cover designs, couple of souvenirs, one editorial assignment, and a complete book. Madhavan, then with Tata McGraw-Hill, Sanjay Singh, then with Thomson Press, and Usha, then with AT&T, discussed the idea of a full-fledged editorial organization. It grew wings when Madhavan met Piyush Chawla (Vikas Publishing House Pvt. Ltd.) at a seminar in 1996.
Vijay Nicole Imprints started operations in 1997 with its unique service of acquisitions and content development and turnkey editorial services including copy-editing, typesetting, proofreading, design and related pre-press services.
The name Vijay Nicole was conceived by Madhavan as a "win-win" harmony. Vijay, his son's name, means victory, and Nicole, which has its origin from Nicholas, also means victory.
Since 1997, Vijay Nicole has worked on over 200 books in engineering, computing, management, humanities, social science, sciences, and related higher academic and college subjects.
Over time, the domain of services offered increased from editorial and typesetting to indexing, translations, production management, consulting, publishing management and so on.
Along with the growth was the ardent desire to provide better learning and training in publishing to employees, associates, and the numerous freelancers. Out of this need was born the Indian Institute of Publishing (IIP).
Another cherished dream was to provide a platform for networking and establish a community of publishing professionals and authors, vendors, and pre-press houses. The Publishing Community at IIP is a result of this.
India Focus was conceived as a dedication to the thousands of authors that the promoters of IIP have worked with. It aims to showcase Indian authorship worldwide.
Vijay Nicole started as a specialist in print media, but now has capabilities in CBT's, training tutorials, and multimedia. |
