Titanium dioxide is the most widely used white pigment in products such as paints, coatings,
plastics, paper, inks, rubber, and food and cosmetics because of its brightness and high refractive
index (> 2.4), When combined with other colours, soft pastel shades can be achieved.
Titanium dioxide is insoluble in water, hydrochloric acid, dilute sulfuric acid, and organic
solvents. It dissolves slowly in hydrofluoric acid and hot concentrated sulfuric acid. It is almost
insoluble in aqueous alkaline media
Anatase titanium dioxide has strong hiding power, highly colored, and good weather ability.
