PTFE has a wide range of practicable temperature from -180°C - +260°C and a wax-like surface to which anything hardly sticks. PTFE has the lowest coefficient of friction of all known solid materials. It has the best electrical properties of all plastics.

PTFE Rod and Low Friction:
PTFE Rod has a very low co-efficient of friction, in fact PTFE has a friction co-efficient so low that it has made it into the record books for the lowest of any solid material known to man and similar to that of ice.
PTFE Rod for Temperature Extremes:
Another important advantage that PTFE Rod has is its remarkable performance at high temperature extremes. PTFE Rod is one of the very few plastics that can withstand extreme high temperatures of over plus 250°C and PTFE can also withstand extreme low temperatures of well under plus 200°C. This makes PTFE pretty unique amongst other engineering plastic materials.
