What is known today as “IMPORTACIONES SILES SRL” has gone through quite a growth process. We began in 1983, in Santa Cruz de la Sierra - Bolivia as a non differentiated retailer store, whose main activity was selling cosmetic products that were offered within the local market by wholesalers. After some years, our little store sought to provide better quality products at accessible prices for Bolivian customers. Around 1987, we began importing from Brazil without any previous experience, taking this risk with the belief that better commercial conditions could be found in Brazilian market. After many years of importing and distributing products from Brazil, our store was not known as a retailer anymore, but was considered the biggest cosmetic wholesaler in our country. At those early years, there were no legally constituted companies distributing cosmetics in Bolivia. Since 1993, many companies offering similar products to the ones our store offered opened. This meant that our wholesaler store had to struggle with those companies for a portion of the market in unequal conditions because these new companies had much better economical conditions, well structured distribution channels and the support of their parent companies abroad. In 1998 we established IMPORTACIONES SILES SRL with the conviction that we could offer similar services to the ones other companies offered at lower prices, structuring an organization that actually is formed by about sixty employees working and supporting each other all over Bolivia for continual improvement. Since 2001 we began searching for new suppliers, so that now we import from Argentina, Paraguay, Chile, China and lately from Indonesia besides Brazil, which remains our main supplier because of its geographical proximity. Nowadays, our company is consolidated as one of the most serious and experienced companies in national market. That is the way our company works, with a low profit margin trying to sell large quantities in order to have the products we commercialized placed in all retailer points and supermarkets. By offering high quality products at economical prices, we provide people with the possibility to obtain similar products or even better products than those offered by other multinational companies at higher prices. Actually our company exclusively distributes personal care and cleaning products from: Brazil Paraguay China Indonesia (Chile: We buy promotional material and packing material such as toys, dishes sets, masking tape, etc.)
