Temperature occurring under the hood in the area of the radiator hose are commonly 110 degree celsius - 125 degree celsius, with peak temp as high as 140 degree celsius . The temperature of the cooling liquid of the operating car ranges between 90 degree celsius - 110 degree celsius. EDPM synthetic rubber has established itself as the most preferred elastomer for radiator coolant hoses for automotive cars. It combines good temperature and ozone resistance with sufficient oil and chemical resistance for this application.
