COMPANY PROFILE Bengal Overseas Ltd. a private limited company established in the year 1977 as an export house for non-traditional products like handicrafts and vegetables to Middle East Countries. Since 1985 the management started representing reputed Multinational Companies in marketing their products in Bangladesh. The Company's present exclusive representations are mentioned at the end of this brochure. The major range of products we handle includes Pharmaceutical finished products, animal health care products, feed premixes, day old chicks, pharma active materials, packaging materials, car paints, protective coatings, milk powder, industrial chemicals and several other items . The Head Office of the Company is located in Dhaka with 7 branches in the commercial towns. The distribution network is carried out in the rest of the Country through 100 appointed stockists / dealers located in important cities and towns. The Company has 80 full time efficient and dedicated employees on its pay roll, who believe in teamwork to materialize the objectives set by the management. ANNUAL TURNOVER The annual business turnover of the Company in 2008 was Tk. 400 millions equivalent to U.S. $5.70 millions. THE OBJECTIVE The objective of the Company is to provide professional services and good quality products to the consumers in Bangladesh through efficient team and net work. This objective is perused keeping in mind respect for the customer needs and satisfaction. The Company's continuity is achieved through commitment to hard work, growth and profitability .Our aim is to remain as a leading marketing organization by rendering efficient services to our customers and to be a respected member of the society. MANAGEMENT TEAM: CHAIRMAN: Mr. Syed Rezaul Karim, was educated in Bangladesh and in England and obtained his Post Graduate Degree in Economics. He started his career in the Government Cadre Services and then switched over to a German multinational company, Hoechst Bangladesh Ltd. a subsidiary of Hoechst AG, ultimately becoming its Managing Director in Bangladesh. He was trained in Germany and Japan and has widely travelled in the West as well as in the East. He left Hoechst in 1996 and started business of his own. He has wide business experience and contacts both in the business community and the Government. VICE CHAIRMAN & CEO: Mr. Md. Ayub Ali, has post-graduate degree in business, he has been trained abroad and attended several International conferences and seminars on marketing and International trade. He has 30 years of experience with Organon Bangladesh Ltd. (a daughter company of AKZO NOBEL) as Commercial Manager and is well conversant with marketing, industrial management, regulatory affairs in Bangladesh. He has wide contacts with the industries and business community in Bangladesh. He has traveled extensively and has excellent business connections both at home and abroad. MANAGING DIRECTOR: Mr. A. K. M. Alamgir, a well-connected person in the commercial circle in Bangladesh. After completing his Post Graduate studies in Business, he started his career in Middle East Countries and Saudi Arabia as Business Executive for 15 years. In 1991 he came back and took over the Company as Managing Director from non-executive Director of the company. He also represents in the management of the following national trade organizations. 1.
