Never before in the Indian private sector, has a company invested Rs. 20 crores for the production of world class quality semiconductor devices with a plant capacity of 274.6 Million devices per annum. The products include Axial Devices Normal, Fast, High Efficiency, Super fast, Avalanche and Schottky Rectifiers, Zeners, Silicon Controlled Rectifiers (SCR’s), Triacs, Power Transistors, High Voltage Rectifiers, Bridges, Auto Diodes, Power Modules, Puk / Capsule Packages and MOSFETS. KHEL’s Semiconductor plant at Pithampur, is equipped with the best production facility in the country today. The modern semi automated plant, in fact, is comparable to any Power Semiconductor plant in the world. The main factory building is constructed of an area of 30, 000 Sq. Ft. fully air-conditioned with clean room facilities of class 100 and class 10, 000, backed by the Services area of 10, 000 Sq. Ft. KHEL has the largest Silicon Wafer Fabrication facility in the country (20 diffusion tubes with the capability of diffusing upto 4” silicon wafers) for the diffusion of Diodes, Power diodes, SCR/Triacs. Siemens A.G. of Germany has provided KHEL with the latest glass passivation technology which include poly silicon, silicon nitride deposition and plasma etching for the manufacture of SCR’s and Triacs. Apart from machinery, KHEL has one of the strongest skills in diffusion. In other words, the key engineering personnel have SIXTY FIVE man-years experience in diffusion and wafer fabrication. In fact, the engineers and the technical supervisory staff have considerable experience in semiconductor technology as a whole. For KHEL total quality is the name of the game and no compromises have been made by the management to see that total quality is maintained. KHEL is proud of itself with the testing equipment’s it has installed. All provisions of testing have been made for the products with the latest state of the art test equipment’s from world leaders like TESEC, KOKUYO, TEKTRONICS, LEM, SIEMENS etc. Automatic Testing and handling is provided for SCR/Triacs, Power Transistors and Axial Diodes. Testing facility also exist for inverter grade SCR (25 Amps to 85 Amps ) High Power Diodes (2000 Amps and 4000 Volts). Environmental Test Chambers for Humidity, Salt Spray, Thermal Shock have been installed. Also included are burn-in tester and life-tester which ensure the high standard of quality assurance and reliability. Unique in-house climatic, endurance and reliability test facilities meeting international specifications such as MIL / DIN / JSS / LCSO / C-DOT which makes KHEL’s power semiconductor the best.
